About the Author
A native of Virginia,
Jenna Blough grew up on the edge of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and was allowed to run wild, instilling a love of the outdoors early on. Her parents also dragged her and her sister on a cross-country road trip of epic proportions at an impressionable age. They visited American classics like Wall Drug, South Dakota; Mesa Verde, Colorado, and the Petrified Forest, Arizona. To this day she has an equal appreciation for Wild West roadside attractions, historic sites, and wilderness.
Jenna Blough met her geographic soul mate in the California desert. Though she didnand#8217;t make it to California until well past college, she has since made up for lost time. Drawn by the austere beauty of the Mojave Desert, she is also fascinated by its cultural history including ghost towns, ancient native sights, and the Mojaveand#8217;s current land use.
She received an undergraduate degree in cultural anthropology and went on to complete a Masterand#8217;s degree in English literature and a Master of Fine Arts degree in writing. Moon Death Valley National Park is her first travel book, and she is thrilled to embark on this new path. When sheand#8217;s not living out of a tent, Jenna lives in a cabin in Los Angeles with her husband, Ryan Jones, a woodstove, and a lot of books.
