About the Author
Fresh from their student days in Japan, andlt;bandgt;Todd Geersandlt;/bandgt; and andlt;bandgt;Erika Hoburgandlt;/bandgt; wrote the first edition of andlt;iandgt;Making Out In Japaneseandlt;/iandgt; in the late 80s because the Japanese they learned in textbooks wasn't the Japanese they were hearing spoken around them. This book has been a contribution to the real education of nonnative speakers ever since. Their daughter, andlt;bandgt;Elisha Geersandlt;/bandgt;, has been studying and teaching in Japan for the past three years.andlt;BRandgt;andlt;BRandgt;Illustrations by andlt;bandgt;Akiko Saitoandlt;/bandgt; who graduated from Musashino Art College. She lives in Tokyo and creates most of her illustrations with her cockateel, Romeo, perched on her shoulder.
