Synopsis
The Wright Brothers had worked and planned for years for this day. Performance trials of their airplane for the United States in 1908. Inexplicably, with Orville Wright at the controls, it crashed killing his passenger, an army observer. He was the first fatality in a powered flight in the United States. Considering the issues of power, wealth and prestige involved it would not be beyond the stretch of imagination to suspect sabotage. This roman a clef novel relates the Wright's ?crew chief? search for the perpetrators (?) while detailing the development of powered flight up to the end of World War I.
