Excerpt from Niaddk Annual Report: October 1, 1980 Through September 30, 1981
Much new information on osteoarthritis has recently emerged from studies in three general areas: biomechanics of cartilage and joints; environmental influences such as prolonged, repetitive exercise; and the viability of tissue grafts such as those used in treating osteoarthritis in the knee, and osteo necrosis (bone death) at the end of the thigh bone.
