Synopsis
Dr Harry Aldborough, petroleum engineer and entrepreneur, has everything going for him, financially and romantically. He is living and working in Dorset and staying in the Elizabethan manor house owned by the father of his girlfriend, Julie.
Soon, events that occurred in Dorset during World War 2 cast their long shadows up to the present time and Harry unwittingly becomes entwined in an international nuclear smuggling conspiracy when he discovers how to generate visual flashbacks of past events.
The action sucks Harry into events beyond his control, swinging from the picturesque and ancient corner of England known as the Purbecks, through Heidelberg in Germany and its Nazi past, to Baku on the Caspian Sea.
Nazi gold, fine art and diamonds stolen by the Nazis in WW 2 are further ingredients in this original and intelligent thriller. Harry finds himself deeply involved in revealing the skeletons in the mysterious Lord Egliston's cupboard and the implications all the characters in the tale.
He is tempted to enter a Faustian contract with Egliston that would make him wealthy and powerful but could lose him the values he holds dear.
Only time can tell which path Harry will choose.
