Synopsis
Now available as a Spanish language edition A reassuring introduction to the classroom, Marilyn Janovitz's adorable kittens show just how much fun learning can be. Perfect for young children just starting school.
"School life is happy and harmonious in this idyllic picture book. The first-person text celebrates what the children (well, technically, dressed animals) like about the experience in short, rhyming phrases such as "We like our garden. / We like our pet. / We like saying the alphabet." Whether cutting and gluing pictures, snacking on oranges and juice, singing, napping, counting, or having show-and-tell, the students and teacher find plenty to smile about. The artwork, drawings brightened with color washes and vivid patterns, reflect the tone and the intent of the rhythmic verse. Well designed to calm young children's jitters before a new school experience, this simple picture book portrays the sort of cheerful classroom that they hope to find at their own schools." - Booklist
