Review
“Few things are sweeter than a child’s early poems: simple, touching, and at times more insightful than expected. And since children often know best how to capture the interest and imagination of other children, an educational picture book filled with kids’ poems just might bring rote learning to life. Such is the case with C is for Colorado."

Review
"O Is for Oregon is an alphabetical treat of poetry for little eyes, ears, and hands. This 30-page book has one letter of the alphabet on each page as well as an accompanying poem written by an elementary grade student. The poems are very simple rhymes that try to connect the letter of the alphabet with something from the state of Oregon. The last three pages of the book give basic facts about all of the topics referred to in the poems. For instance, "Z is for Zoo" has a cute poem accompanying it on the page. In the back of the book, you will read that the Oregon Zoo is the home of the largest and oldest Asian elephant born in a zoo in North America.O Is for Oregon ends with a group picture of the students who participated in making the book. I thought that was a nice finishing touch. Overall, this is a fun book that can help children learn the alphabet and a little state history at the same time."

About the Author
"In my mind, the credit is three-fold: our wonderful volunteers Yvonne and Meredith provided such a rich and safe environment for our kids' inspiration; Michelle McCann was amazingly thorough and encouraging in her edits and comments back to our leaders and youth; and our state historian Bob Blackburn and David Fitzgerald got us off to a great start during the initial brainstorming stage. I am so thankful for all the players!" --Jane Sutter, President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Oklahoma
