Synopsis
Excerpt from Optimistic Medicine, or the Early Treatment of Simple Problems Rather Than the Late Treatment of Serious Problems
If it were possible for the physician, who by com parison knows nearly everything on the subject, to in a measure bridge this gap and thus transform his patients into clients with a greater common knowledge of Physiology and Hygiene as a mutual basis for consultation, the advantages to the medical profession would be great; but nothing in comparison with the benefits conferred upon the average family, whose hygienic blunders in their aggregate results to society are worse than many of the traditional crimes.
