This is a collection of more than 100 poems for the millennium on the theme of time. The book takes a wide-ranging look at Time, including the beginning of the world, the present, and the future; being born, having birthdays, and growing old. There are humorous poems and sad poems, old and new poems, familiar and less well-known ones, all included to reflect and illuminate Time. The poets include Ted Hughes, Michael Roen, Seamus Heaney; Tennyson, Auden, Shakespeare, and many more. The poems are illustrated in color and black and white by a number of artists who all bring their own contributions to the theme.

"A wonderful anthology . . . this is a book to savour."--

"Well-organized anthology... The book has a stellar cast: Tennyson, Milton, Blake, Dickinson, and Bronte join more modern writers such as Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath, W. H. Auden, Robert Frost... For poetry studies, for students who just enjoy the genre, and for the fascination with the millennia that is sure to transfer into reports, this collection is certainly of the moment."--School Library Journal
