Synopses & Reviews
Classic urinary tract infection and inflammation has pain, frequency, bleeding, backache and/or fever in any order or combination. It is also known as cystitis. No figures are kept because it is so very common, but in the 25 years since Angela introduced self-help and prevention, attacks in the UK have dropped by 50% from their high in 1971 when they were over 25 million a year. The medical profession generally has not changed its treatments at all, still only offering antibiotics, poor quality urine sampling and futile trips to helpless urologists who may cause further procedural damage. Truthfully, control and elimination of cystitis is not always their affair. Most cystitis is caused by the patient or sexual partner, their lifestyle somewhere and no doctor can help to resolve this. Responsibility lies with each sufferer to find out why her attacks occur and then they become preventable. The gut and bowels are the source of virtually all the bacteria whether common or uncommon. Usually bacteria come from the sufferer's own bowels, but all too often an unwashed foreskin is the culprit. Hemorrhoids and episiotomy scars can railroad more bacteria forward, devastating relationships, jobs, social life and general well being. Angela teaches simple but effective measures to limit bacteria travel at no cost.
This lively and informative encyclopaedia is three books in one really. 'Cystitis' and 'Sexual Cystitis' are heavily updated from past publications and 'Interstitial Cystitis' is brand new.
This book contains three sections, all packed with vital prevention and self-help information based on medical facts and simple daily tips, and includes a matching DVD. UTIs are dreadfully common, miserable, frightening, depressing, socially devastating recurrent female illnesses. Both bacterial and nonbacterial causes abound. The author discusses bacterial urinary infections, inflammations, IC, cystitis, hygiene, diet, menopause, children, teens, sex, lifestyle, frequency, pain incontinence, and a lot more.
About the Author
Angela Kilmartin is a convent-educated, ex-professional solo singer in London whose career was cut short by seven years of repeated urinary tract infections (UTIs) and candida from all the antibiotics. Now, completely recovered for thirty-five years, she teaches prevention and self-help. She knows it all from the grief, pain, pills, and hospitals to the loss of hope, faith, love, and career, and then revenge. She has toured the United States many times for shows and lectures and sings twice yearly here too. Angela begs women not to allow urological surgery for infections but to accept self-help as the main preventive answer. She discusses many medical conditions that cause cystitis and UTIs and need appropriate medical attention. Overall this brave woman has made millions of women well just through her books and media work.
