About the Author
Douglas Anderson is Sterling-Goodman Professor of English at the University of Georgia. He is the author of A House Undivided: Domesticity and Community in American Literature; The Radical Enlightenments of Benjamin Franklin, and William Bradfords Books: Of Plimmoth Plantation and the Printed Word, as well as a number of articles on American writers from the eighteenth through the twentieth century.
