I am re-buying this for my classroom of preschoolers- the first copy I had was very old and finally fell apart. Granted, my students seem to be obsessed with all manner of alphabet books, but this was a particular favourite. The gentle, lovely illustrations were of great interest and the book fits wonderfully with our annual spring gardening unit. I highly recommend it- with all the bright and busy children's books today (not that there is anything wrong with bright and busy!), this quiet, sweet and old-fashioned book is always a surprising hit.
