Synopses & Reviews
Many excellent and complete publications have been written on the subject of drafting and blueprint reading for professionals. There is a need for students and instructors to develop the skill of using sketches and drawings in planning, constructing and the assembling of projects.
The use of drawings and sketches suitable for construction is intended to make the problems realistic and concrete as opposed to dealing with the subject in an abstract manner. The challenge of application should increase motivation. An effort has been made to provide plans that are graded from the relatively simple to those with sufficient complexity to illustrate the desired principles.
In using this manual, the instructor may select those drawings which present the principles or subject matter she wishes to cover. Selection of exercises can be made as the student's progress is evaluated. The manual can be used for both group instruction or for independent study.
As each instructor develops his scientific curriculum he has the option to select one or more of the exercises in this manual.
