Synopsis
Discover a new world of possibilities open up through mixed media - working with plaster to create a wide variety of finished works of art. After a brief introduction explaining plaster basics, you are guided through five chapters: Painting on Plaster, Casting & Carving, Sculpture, Book Arts and Encaustic, Mixed Media & Plaster and 25 projects. Each project introduces a new way of incorporating plaster into your work, from the creation of a faux fresco painting, to a stenciled look and from cast-object assemblage to a book with plastered pages. As with any book authored by two artists, you'll receive extra inspiration by seeing how Stephanie and Judy approach plaster in their own way to achieve different results. In addition, gallery pieces from a small handful of contributors will offer even more inspiration.
