Pongo is a masterful debut by talented illustrator and author Jesse Hodgson. Pongo traces his way from the rainforest floor to the treetops on his search for the bright orange sun. Hodgson's beautiful illustrations are reminiscent of Henri Rousseau's paintings, drawing you into the depths of an enchanting, limitless jungle that will capture every child's imagination.
The first book from Jesse Hodgson tells the story of an orangutan's journey to see the sun.
Pongo lived in the deep dark depths of the rainforest. The trees grew so tightly together that hardly any sunshine ever reached down to the forest floor. Today Pongo decides to make his way above the canopy to see the sun with his own eyes. Along the way encounters all the different (and distracting!) aspects of jungle life
