About the Author
Kate Lied was eight years old when she wrote Potato: A Tale from the Great Depression, a family story told to her by her Aunt Dorothy. Potato won an award in a writing contest sponsored by Kates neighborhood bookstore, the Reading Reptile in Kansas City, Missouri. Now 17, Kate lives with her family in Kansas City.
