The title of the Power and the Glory is symbolic as it attracts the reader to the main idea that is to be expected throughout the novel. Greene is a master of writing, he sets up the reader with such a simple title as this. the main question throughout the novel is, who has the power? who has the glory? are these entities tangible and can be owned? can two person equally hold these two entity? and whether or not these entities can be owned. The squalid lieutenant wants the power for himself, as he views the power as tangible, while the unamed priest states that he does not have the power as it is reserved for god.... for futher information contact me at email above.
