I have not had a chance to read the book. However the ideas about primitivism and the development of Modernism as a grand narrative with strict visual codes as we face the shift to Globalisation is very interesting. It may point to the failure of modernist societies to understand their role in the cultural creation of belonging. This in turn might be able to reflect on the meaness of 'progressive capatalism' based on subsuming all codes around itself, including those of other cultures. This meaness is evidenced in the recent case of the British youth bombing their own countrymen as a reaction to the message and code taught in progressive capatalism. Understanding the reading of these codes cold assist us in developing new narratives. Love to read the book.
