Synopsis
Poetry cannot be announced. It is the announcing event itself. What a reader of poetry can say about a poet is merely a humble tribute, a few words that should remain anonymous, and these are mine: Hala Dika's poetry is a journey that takes us into the everyday as a journey into the world. A world revealing itself in the everyday and the everyday becoming revelation. Like a true explorer, in her journey, the poet does not try to avoid the forbidden and dark zones of this world. Her poetry crosses the heart of darkness with redeeming irony and laughter. Unlike Ulysses, the poet does not come out of her journey seeking revenge at home and declaring a final heroic victory. There is no world to conquer here, no identity to kill for, no boundaries to defend. Only a world as a redeeming journey.
