Synopses & Reviews
The Secret Sketchbooks of Brian Froud includes some of his earliest drawings exploring the faerie realm through art created in recent years. These pages offer an exceptionally intimate look into Brian's process of creating his magical images. Those who know his work well will discover the origins of numerous familiar images as Brian first conceived them. Many are given additional life with a wash of color, the attachment of a found object like a leaf or bit of twig, collaged together with other drawings. This full-color book features a personal introduction by Brian in which he shares his thoughts about his art, and page after page of Froud Faeries, pixies, goblins, trolls and other denizens of Faerie. This book dramatically demonstrates why Brian's drawings are always a favorite with his millions of fans worldwide.
