He saw the world as being saturated in color, seeing glamour and beauty where others saw only the bleakness of city life. His determination to color the world led him to the U.S. during the 1980s, where he worked for the Bay Area Rapid Transit. He also worked for Mohammed Al Fayed, for whom he created the Egyptian Hall and the Egyptian Escalator at Harrods. Other major projects include the Civic Square in Honolulu. With 85 color photos and 132 b&w illustrations.
