When people think about architecture in China, what often springs to mind is the overpowering presence of Western masters conjuring up entire large cities. However, indigenous Chinese architecture is also undergoing a massive upsurge and could be poised to take the lead with its synthesis of traditional Chinese and modern global design. "Sinotecture" presents the work of 40 architectural practices from the Middle Empire, with over 500 images demonstrating in a graceful and forceful fashion how these firms are helping shape the creation of a modern China.
