Underneath the deep, dark waters of the Warrior River lurks a monster. It is a huge, hungry thing that drags its victims under, and with its massive, crushing jaws, it makes short work of them. Nothing can stop it, until Sergeant Mark Richards with the Alabama Marine Police comes up with a solution by trapping it. He then has to fend off a radical animal rights activist group determined to free the gigantic, saurian creature, even though they know that man is on its food chain. The sergeant must also try and protect his girlfriend, Rachelle, from her ex-husband, Russell, a sociopath who has sworn to kill her and take back their daughter, Chelsey. When the activist group succeeds in their quest, the sergeant is powerless to recapture the snapper; neither can he keep Rachelle safe. When things go horribly wrong, she has to try and swim for her life.
