Synopses & Reviews
Songs for the Holy One is a new and dynamic translation of the Psalms that bridges the old with the new, excellent scholarship with good poetry, and the spoken and sung Word. Using inclusive language, Barnett has translated all 150 Psalms into engaging and reverent renditions that breathe new life into the Psalms. In addition, each Psalm is paired with original refrains from composer Donald Patriquin. The new Psalms retain the poetry and integrity of the originals, but have been revised to emphasize passion and exultation.
