Synopses & Reviews
A supplement for courses emphasizing modern physics. Part 1 covers special relativity and the meaning of time, part 2 discusses quantum physics, part 3 looks at elementary particles and force fields. The three self-contained parts can be used separately or in combination.
'Space Time and Quanta' is for first-year college students (particularly those considering a science or engineering major) as well as other interested readers. It assumes some background in high school mathematics, but no prior exposure to physics is necessary. Elements of classical physics and calculus are introduced in the book where needed.
