Synopsis
Excerpt from Special Report of the Adjutant-General of the State of Texas: September, 1884
They are official, and are again offered as going to show the history of our efforts in this matter, and as adding strength to our assertions as to the necessity imposed upon the State of Texas to manfully incur, for the sake of the security and protection of her citizens, the extraordinary pecuniary burdens for which we now respectfully and earnestly ask reimbursement from the general government.
On page 18, of Lieutenant Bradley's report, is a letter from the honor able Secretary of War, from which the following extract is made.
