About the Author
Omer Englebert was born in Belgium in 1893 and died in Jerusalem in 1991. He entered the Order of Friars Minor in 1909 and was ordained a priest in 1924. A few years later he left the order and passed to the diocesan clergy. He is the successful author of several books. His Life of St. Francis is still in print in French: it is a classic. Englebert contributed also to journals and directed series for various publishing houses. Several of his books have been translated in many languages.
