About the Author
Joseph F. Healey (Ph.D., Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Virginia) is Professor of Sociology at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. He has written articles on minority groups, the sociology of sport, social movements, and violence and is the author of RACE, ETHNICITY, GENDER, AND CLASS (fourth edition, 2006) and several other textbooks.
