Synopsis
Susan Young's husband, Fred Young, was missing and presumed dead after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Susan's Story tells how she learned the news, and it chronicles the trauma and grieving she and their two children experienced after 9/11.
The insurance payouts and government settlements made Susan richer than she imagined possible, but through the trauma and the wealth revelations, Susan handled herself impeccably. The result was that she was a shoo-in to be elected the next Senator from Nebraska.
In the end, the stress of raising two teenagers in Washington, DC, dealing with the pressures of political life, and coping with her own loneliness were more than she bargained for.
Susan's Story is a companion to the novel, 2605.
