Kristine's book could have been entitled 'Autobiographical Tales....' as the book is more or less a group of autobiographical stories about how her life drastically changed by her trip to the Yucatan and her new life created there. Since the twenty-first century gringo from the US is so different from the present day mayan indian in his culture, Kristine writes about how she 'bridged' this gap and was changed by it.
I go to the Yucatan yearly for a vacation combined with cultural/archeological studies, and always spend part of my time at Kristine & Santiago's B & B in the small village of Santa Elena, Yucatan. It is a real treat to interact with them both.
