About the Author
Patricia Cunningham is a professor of education at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Pat has taught first and fourth grades and remedial reading. Pat has over 30 years of teaching experience.
Dorothy Hall is a former curriculum coordinator who has taught first, second, third, and fourth grades, and at the college level. Dottie is the director of the Four-Blocks Center at Wake Forest University and has over 30 years of teaching experience.
Cheryl Sigmon was a classroom teacher for eleven years before working with the Department of Education in South Carolina for nine years as a language arts consultant, conducting seminars and supporting teachers in schools and districts
