Synopsis
Excerpt from The Bruce; And Wallace, Vol. 1 of 2: Published From Two Ancient Manuscripts Preserved in the Library of the Faculty of Advocates, With Notes, Biographical Sketches, and a Glossary
In preparing these works for the press, he has again had recourse to the manuscripts, and has paid all the attention that he was capable of to their accuracy. He cannot presume to boast that they are free from errors, but he flatters himself that these will be found to be few; and where he has observed any of con sequence, he has corrected them in the Notes. He has also marked the fall'os of each manuscript on the margent at the proper places, that a reference to them might be more easy, if any reader should find it necessary.
