About the Author
Oili Tanninen is one of Finlandandrsquo;s most treasured creators of childrenandrsquo;s literature. Having written and illustrated over 20 childrenandrsquo;s books, Tanninen became a household name in 1960s Finland when her beloved Nunnu books were made into an animated TV series. She has received several major awards throughout her career, including the Hans Christian Andersen Certificate of Honor (three times), the Topelius Finnish Literature Prize, the Rudolf Koiru Award, the Finland State Literature Award, and most recently, the Kieku Award for lifetime achievement in illustration.
