Adrianne Lobel grew up to be a noted set designer who also produced the Broadway musical A Year with Frog and Toad. Adrianne's discovery of several of her father's handmade books illustrated in pen and ink for family and friends led to this new picture book. An artist herself, Adrianne added color to prints of her father's line art using watercolors and dyes. Adrianne lives with her daughter in New York City.
