Synopses & Reviews
The threat of nuclear terrorism and weapons of mass destruction has never been greater, yet, as this devastating exposé makes clear, Americas leaders, including the last two Presidential administrations, have been shockingly lax and often chillingly reckless when it comes to protecting the United States—and the world—from the spreading threat of nuclear proliferation and the very real possibility that terrorists will stage a nuclear bombing or meltdown on American soil . . . with catastrophic results.
Taking no prisoners, Robert Gleason's The Nuclear Terrorist demonstrates how time and again both the Bush and Obama administrations have placed politics and profiteering over public safety; how the government has failed to effectively guard and regulate a “peaceful” nuclear industry that is both cataclysmically expensive and apocalyptically dangerous; how Americas nuclear power plants remain vulnerable to both physical and cyber attacks; and how our elected leaders and their advisors continue to do business with rogue states, untrustworthy and unstable “allies,” and terrorist backers, while turning a blind eye to the all-but-inevitable consequences of such deals with the devil.
"I was awestruck. Regardless of your political affiliation, you must read this book.
—Stephen Coonts, New York Times bestselling author of Pirate Alley
"Powerful and provocative, this gut-punch of a book is far more frightening than any fictional thriller. Whether or not you share Gleason's conclusions, his broadening of the nuclear-danger issue beyond formal weapons will sober even the cynical. If ever we faced a ‘real and present danger, this is it."
—Ralph Peters, author of New York Times bestseller Cain at Gettysburg
"Containing explosive allegations backed up by verified facts, figures, and documents, The Day Before Armageddon is a horrifying story that must be told. It is a compulsively readable book that frightens and infuriates the reader. I couldnt put it down."
—Douglas Preston, New York Times bestselling author of Impact
"Im awed. The Day Before Armageddon is probably the most courageous piece of writing Ive ever read. My admiration went up for the author with every page."
—Thomas Fleming, New York Times bestselling author of LIBERTY! The American Revolution
"Robert Gleason has lifted up a very large log and carefully catalogued whats crawling underneath. The devil is in the details, and he has found plenty of both."
—Larry Bond, New York Times bestselling author of Shattered Trident
"Global warming, deforestation, the despoliation of the earth's natural resources are as nothing compared to a world facing the increasing nuclear terrorist threat. Everyone with the power of literacy needs to read this book—everyone else needs to have it read to them. It's that important!"
—David Hagberg, New York Times bestselling author of Blood Pact
"Now I'm scared. More frightening and intense than any work of fiction—and we need to pay attention. Bob Gleason has studied nuclear proliferation for over thirty years, so his opinion matters. You have to read this one."
—Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author The Columbus Affair
