Synopsis
I do not wear camouflage, dog tags, or carry a weapon. I have never walked into battle. I have never had bullets make their way past my body. However, as I rise each day, my skin feels as though it is pierced with the grim understanding that my husband might not make it home to me. I will never receive any medals, or have any ceremonies recognizing my brave and fearless acts of courage. That is okay, however, because the only thing I hope for, care for, and wait for is my soldier to once again wrap his arms around me. This is my life written from the heart that serves as a young military wife in the branch of service known as the aSilent Ranks.a
