About the Author
Sydney Gurewitz Clemens is a consultant in early childhood education. From 1972 to 1983 she taught children in the San Francisco Unified School District, and taught teachers at Goddard, Antioch West, Lone Mountain and Merritt colleges. Sydney has been an organizer for the San Francisco Classroom Teacher's Association, was a delegate to the White House Conference on the Family, and studient non-violence with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and a Master's Degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. Above all, she loves and respects children.
