I was stopping at home with a couple of friends after a particularly vigorous rock-climbing session, and I forgot that I left this book on the kitchen table. We were going out, so I went to go shower, and I came back to said friends huddled around it, reading it aloud, uniting on the many Portland specific foodie preferences, and the various day-to-day doings of the local artists. If you're an artist in Portland, or simply a connoisseur of Portland culture, this is a handy keepsake to have. Not only are the artist profiles playfully informative, and their portfolios fantastic, and the overall aesthetic of the book beautiful, but everything's very relatable. You'll find yourself filling out a profile, puzzling out the probability of running into one of these people at their 'favorite place to drink', which just so happens to be in SE, and right down the street. It'll invigorate you. Like all good books do.
