Synopses & Reviews
Rosenberg looks to the Qumran scrolls for clues to the relationship of the Essenes or Sadoqites of the early Christians. He finds that many of their beliefs including the expectation of a Moreh Sedeq or "Correct Teacher," were taken on by the early Christians and shaped the early days of the Church.

Review
An important study on a timely theme. The centrality and meaning of sedeq (Divine Justice) for the life of both the Essenes and the first Christians has never before been set out in such a challenging, competent, and convincing presentation, accessible to the lay reader and full of surprises for the scholar.Professor Otto Betz University of Tubingen
