About the Author
Michael Ekedahl has worked in the technology field for nearly 20 years. He taught Visual Basic, Internet development, and other programming topics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for 15 years. Michael was also the lead technical analyst for the National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment at UNLV. He also developed geophysical software sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Presently, Michael teaches Visual Basic and advanced programming topics at the University of Nevada, Reno, and writes books for Thomson Course Technology.In addition to writing Programming Logic and Design, Joyce Farrell is also the author of Java Programming, Microsoft Visual C#, 2005, Object-Oriented Programming Using C++, and An Object-Oriented Approach to Programming Logic and Design, all of which are published by Course Technology. Joyce was formerly Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems at Harper College in Palatine, IL. Prior to joining Harper College, Joyce taught Computer Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois.Don Gosselin is a technical communications expert with more than 20 years experience. His extensive technology experience includes application development, technical writing, training, and curriculum development. Don is also a highly respected technical author, having written numerous reference works for various publishers and a dozen college-level textbooks for Course Technology/Thomson Learning. His best-selling JavaScript textbook was the first textbook to be published on the JavaScript language and continues to be the industry leader six years after its initial publication. In addition, he has written or contributed to textbooks on Java programming, Microsoft Visual C++ 6 and .NET, Web design technologies, Web programming languages, XHTML, and PHP programming with MySQL. Don currently works at Oracle Corporation as a principal technical writer responsible for identity management and provisioning documentation.Diane Zak is the best-selling author of a number of Course Technology texts, including Programming with Visual Basic, Microsoft Visual Basic: RELOADED, Visual Basic for Applications, An Introduction to Programming with C++, and CGI/Perl. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Accounting and a Master of Arts degree in Adult and Continuing Education.
