Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas is the first book in the “Throne of Glass” series. Two things about Sarah J. Maas before I discuss the book. She delivers strong female characters, and her stories are action-packed with intriguing, complex worlds and interesting characters. Celeana Sardothien is an assassin who has been through hell when the story opens. She’s smart-mouthed, witty, and unpredictable, all things I love in a character. She’s thrown into the world of her enemies and forced to cooperate with a King she hates. The story hooked me immediately. The world is standout, and the characters interesting and diverse. Things I loved about the book are: 1. Maas delivers a fascinating, diverse, complex, fully developed fantasy world that builds as the series continues. 2. Celeana is a complex character, sometimes a little unlikable, which makes her seem more real. 3. Chaol Westfall: he’s the captain of the King’s guards and a good guy living in an evil world. To me, he’s far more interesting than Prince Dorian. Yes, there’s a love triangle. Chaol’s innocence about the king and his court and his high moral values make him vulnerable. 4. There’s some pretty weird stuff going on in the story. A little spoiler, to fully understand the dark and twisted things of this world, you have to keep reading the series. I recommend Throne of Glass and the rest of the series.

I loved this book. It speaks of overcoming odds and when you have every right to be evil and broken she has a way of healing herself.

This is one of the best books I have read since harry potter. sort of a mix between GoT and Hunger games. Celaena is the perfect mix of broody and sarcastic. If you're sick of heroin's that can't take care of themselves this book is for you.

This book was so amazing! I couldn't put it down. I think I read it in about 12 hours. Make sure the read the short stories that come before it though (they're all like 100 pages) you don't need to to understand but they give some insight into the main character.

i started reading the book because my best friend absolutely loved it. the book is written really good and i love the main characters. celaena has major conflicts in her life and is more of an anti-hero, but the longer the story goes on and you just have to fall in love with her, because even though she is an assassin, all she wants is to be free and be loved, what seems to be impossible. all she has ever known is death and everyone she loves seems to die. so when the prince comes to get her and offers her a deal, she sees her chance to escape after she served her five years. but things get more and more complicated she likes the people that she meets. chaol (the captain of the guard), nehemia (the princess of an other land) and dorian (the prince) become her friends and she wants to protect them. the book tells a beautiful story about friendship, revenge, love and hatred. even though celaena is very bitter she is funny and still very open and doesn't like to kill.
