This exquisite book is crammed with an unbelievable amount of knowledge and information, from an in-depth comparison of tiny hooks and threads to hatches and everything in between.

A excellent book that is well written with a minimum of self importance a maximum of thought. The chapters on hooks, thread, and weighting these tiny flies are particularly informative. Does a very good job of covering the emerger/cripple phases of mayflies, midges, and caddis with multiple patterns as well as when and where to use them. Patterns are probably oriented for the South Platte and San Juan so observation and kicknet work on your home water is in order. The Baetis and Trico series made a huge difference for me on Silver Creek!
