About the Author
Elwyn Hartley Edwards was, for many years, Consultant Editor of Riding magazine and contributes regularly to many journals, including Horse and Hound, Country Life and the Radio Times. He is the regional chairman of the British Horse Society, and the vice-patron of HAPPA (Horse and Pony Protection Association). He lectures regularly to equestrian organizations, and is the author of over 30 books on the subject of horses. Encyclopedia of the Horse, A Standard Guide to Horse and Pony Breeds, and The Horseman's Manual are some of the best known. Sharon Ralls Lemon, editor of Horse Illustrated magazine, has been riding horses since the age of four. She lives in Southern California.
