Sorti de Geneve par un temps assez nebu Ieux. J'arrivai a Servoz au moment ou le ciel commencait a s eclaircir. La crete du Mont Blanc ne se decouvre pas de cet endroit, mais on a une vue distincte de sa croupe neigee, appelee le (dome. On franchit ensuite le pas sage des Montees, et l'on entre dans la vallee de Chamouny. On passe au-dessous du gla cier des Bossons; ces pyramides se montrent a travers les branches des sapins et des mele zes. M. Bourrit a compare ce glacier, pour sa blancheur et la coupe allongee de ses cristaux, une flotte a la voile; j'ajouterai, au milieu d'un golfe borde de vertes forets.
