Washington's Mount Rainier National Park, just sucks you in. A combination vacation in a book, a respite from busy world around us and the awe inspiring photographs by Pat O'Hara, make you long for more.
If you like natural history, legends, true stories of the wilderness past, with a bit of mystery you will love this book!
If you never been to Washington state on the Northwest Coast, your in for a treat of so much diversity in one area. Beautifull blooms, snow capped mountain peaks and the people who felt a need to discover it. If you have been here before; its a wonderous look of photos of past as well as present.
I could not help but wonder what it was like to sleep in canvas tents on the side of a mountain near a glacier, and the very peak also being a volcano. Rushing streams of chilled water running near hot earth, and trees so tall that the car in one photo looks toy-like in size. This book is also a culmination of research and preservation of natural areas. The understanding of which can be lost to our busy modern lives. This gives us a peak inside what we all long for.
