Synopses & Reviews
After his ritual "Cock-a-doodle-doo!", a rooster hears an answering "Moo!" But who said the "Moo"? The rooster scouts the barnyard, asking five animals the titular question. Each lets him know what non-moo sound it does make (an oink, woof, hee-haw, and meow) until the rooster locates a cow, who confesses to being the morning moo-er--and her baby calf moos, too. The animal sounds are revealed beneath each of the six flaps, which when turned also show the rooster's comical reaction to each not-a-moo sound. On the last spread, all in the barnyard bellow their own special way.
