Buck Tilton, MS, WEMT, is cofounder of the Wilderness Medicine Institute of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). A regular columnist for Backpacker magazine, he is the author of several FalconGuides, including Backcountry First Aid and Extended Care and Medicine for the Backcountry.
