This is not just an exercise book. Mark Lauren explains a lot about how the body works: how it metabolizes different macro nutrients under different circumstances, how it gains muscle, how it loses fat. And it is not a book that aims to make you skinny or super buff. Lauren aims to help you be healthy and strong which means reaching and maintaining a realistic weight for you through a balanced diet and strength training. I can't stand going to the gym and I hike daily so Lauren's simple strengthening exercises I can do anywhere is a great addition to my regimen. The exercises don't take a lot of time (30 mins) and you don't have to do them every day. They are very effective. Watch out the first couple of times you do them!!! I was using muscles I had not used in a while and got sore!
