Communities throughout the Gulf States still need your assistance with
the recovery effort that began over eighteen months ago. Your pledge will
be delivered to Mercy Corps, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization who will
in turn donate the books to the Rosa Keller Library Branch.
The
Broadmoor Improvement Association is one of the oldest neighborhood
associations in New Orleans, established in 1930. This
neighborhood is committed to rebuilding a stronger, better community,
taking the recovery from Hurricane Katrina into its own hands.
The Rosa Keller Library, established almost fifty years ago in New Orleans's
historic Broadmoor neighborhood, was completely
devastated by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Today, Powell's Books,
Mercy Corps, and the Flight of Friendship have partnered to help the Rosa
Keller Library restock its book collection for young readers and community
members.
