Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

A new holiday classic from the author of the bestselling Naked and Barrel Fever!

Holidays On Ice collects six of David Sedaris's most profound Christmas stories into one slender volume perfect for use as a last-minute coaster or ice scraper. This drinking man's companion can be enjoyed by the warmth of a raging fire, the glow of a brilliantly decorated tree, or even in the backseat of a van or police car. It should be read with your eyes, felt with your heart, and heard only when spoken to. It should, in short, behave much like a book. And, oh, what a book it is!

Review:

"Christmas laughs old and new from the comedian who made his name with The Santaland Diaries." Library Journal

This is a great gift for your slightly bitter relative who doesn't hate the holidays but who maybe laughs heartily when a careless child crashes his forehead into a coffee table. Author David Sedaris excels in the art of self-deprecation and knows how to shed light on the dark corners of the family room. Before wrapping this gift, read "Front Row Center with Thaddeus Bristol". Mr. Bristol's critical review of a middle school Christmas production should only be read aloud to a friend who shares your same wicked sense of humor. You can also find Holidays on Ice as an audio book.
